Cross the "Elton John Concert Live" off of my Bucket List

Carol and Charlotte set up tickets for the Portland, Oregon Elton John
Concert two days after we arrived back from South Korea.  We were a bit
out-of-body but Charlotte & Family did a great job of accommodating our
needs.  We had a great time and Elton was on...  I think that this was only
the second concert on his extensive world tour.  This is supposed to be
the final concert tour... I hope not as I would like to see him again.

Big Stage Monday at 3rd & Linsley

We enjoy the art and music of Eric's good friend Ray Stephenson - left
in the picture.  He is one of the principals behind the Big Stage Shows
at 3rd and Lindsley.  We enjoy going there on Monday afternoons - good
food (big, big salad), great music and fresh coffee guaranteed!

Retired and Exploring His Past Now That He Appreciates Old Things

I

My parents left our family the gift of many pictures of their childhood and
marriage.  I am going through many of them now that I can better appreciate
them - having the time helps for sure.  I bought a really good 10x magnifier
with a built in light and exploring these pictures with that level of detail
is like entering another world.  (Ok, maybe a little bit dramatic wording.)

At any rate, in this picture, you can see my great grandfather Nels to the left.  In
the picture on the right, you can see my father Loyd to the left on the
couch and his dad, my grandfather on the right with the BBday cake
in his lap.  There may be 3-generations of celiacs in this picture!  If I
was in the picture, it would be possibly 4-generations, with Erica
and myself, it would be 5-generations.  Hopefully her kids are without.

Two interesting things that I will note here at this time...

1.  Fred died a very skinny man as he "may" have had undiagnosed
celiac and related milk allergies.  His strict diet for his last years
was "milk toast".  Sad but true.  Really sad if true.  We do not know
why he passed and things were not well documented in the country.

2.  Is that portrait above the couch in Fred's living room a portrait of
his dad Nels?  Sure looks like him... the things you see at 10X with
good lighting.  Wonder where the portrait went, sure hope someone
has it that appreciates it.

Emil Kapaun - Medal of Honor in Korean Conflict

My good friend Steve and I had a good high school friend by the same
name as the gentlemen below.  (Except his name was Pat, or Frenchy as
we used to call him.  Not even sure why we called him that?)

At any rate, if I knew where Pat's relatives hang out I would certainly
connect and see if there is any relation.  The name struck me when I
saw his poster on the wall in the Army Garrison at Yongsong - but
what really got me was his resemblance.  Their looks are very
similiar - although I did not know Pat much at the age of the
Chaplain as shown.  There have been stranger coincidences
in my life so I guess I will let Emil hang out here until I
figure out a way to explore his family.

Bye for now Emil, thanks for your service!

Monday Nights at the Station Inn in Nashville: Good Times

We have been going to the Station Inn on Monday nights for a couple
of weeks now.  It is fun to watch some fantastic musicians & writers
perform for an entrance fee of $15.  Best bargain in town although
the beers are $6 bucks each.  We enjoy the company as well.

Conway Twitty played one song - his new hit called "Hair I am".
Deryk, my friend knows Conway and a bunch of other great hair guys.
I may get hooked up with some of their dressers because they do indeed have fine dews.

A Night at the Opry: February 26, 2019

We went to the Opry to see my friends favorite group:  Brothers Osborne.
Steve, they said to say "Hi Dude!"

Both are amazing guitar pickers!

Anyone that has been to one of their shows knows this song by site.
Don't Blame Me, It Aint My Fault.
(Or something like that...)

Two special girls to take on a date night!
